On Saturday, a regional meeting of members and sympathisers of the SDS party happened in Marezige. However, even before the meeting happened, the “Friday Cyclists” and Barbara Verdnik also wrote about it on Facebook, announcing a protest rally and roadblocks on all roads that allow access to this Istrian settlement in the Northern part of Šavrinsko hills.
According to the reports of the web portal Regional Obala (Regional Coast), the so-called “Friday Cyclists,” who are calling themselves the Protest People’s Assembly, called on people from all over Slovenia to come to Marezige on Saturday at noon. The left-wing fascists believe that the SDS party was provoking them with its actions and proving that it wants a civil war.
Barbara Verdnik, a former journalist and director of Primorske Novice (Primorska News), who was later also a member of Golobič’s Zares party, also joined the call to protest on Facebook, with a left-fascist post. In her post, she wrote that the party has already set up fences to protect it against the uninvited guests, the people.
In spite of all of the above, the meeting still happened and was a success.
