Journalist Možina Told Sophie in ‘t Veld’s Delegation the Truth: The Media Is Being Brutally Exploited by the Transitional Left for Its Political Fight!

“Currently trying to clarify the media ‘dictatorship’ for the EU Parliament’s mission. I told them loud and clear what is true: 90 percent of the media is being dictated and brutally used for the political fight by the transitional left – on RTV Slovenia, the main party that is doing this is the SD,” RTV journalist Jože Možina wrote on Twitter during the “questioning” about the state of media freedom in Slovenia.

On Wednesday, the European Parliament’s fact-finding mission that has come to Slovenia began reviewing the situation in our country in the field of the rule of law, freedom of the media, and the fight against corruption. As we have already reported, they met with non-governmental organisations on the first day – five out of six of which were extremely ideological and left-wing. It is probably not really necessary to explain what kind of an impression the delegation will get from such a one-sided composition.

However, the assessment of the situation in Slovenia also continued on Thursday. It is not yet known what the participants of the meeting in the European Union House talked about; however, the RTV journalist Jože Možina published a snippet of the event. He wrote on Twitter that he had told the delegation that 90 percent of the Slovenian media is being used by the transitional left for the political fight – on the national media outlet RTV, the party that is most involved in this are the Social Democrats (SD).

The state of the media is best illustrated by a video that they refused to play
Let us reiterate that everyone should watch the video on the state of the media in Slovenia, which the chairwoman of the European Parliament’s Democracy, Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights Monitoring Group, Sophie in ‘t Veld, did not allow to be played. That is also why Prime Minister Janez Janša no longer wanted to participate in the debate. As the recording is crucial for the understanding of media freedom in Slovenia, especially for such an important committee of the European Parliament, we are publishing it below.

The fact-finding mission that is currently visiting Slovenia includes seven members of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), one from each political group, and one from the Committee on Budgetary Control. These fact-finding missions are prepared and carried out by the LIBE Committee. One of its members is also Romana Tomc, a Member of the European Parliament from Slovenia, who represents the largest political group, the centre-right European People’s Party (EPP).
