While the European Council finally rejected the request of the Austrian news agency APA for access to a document allegedly related to the alleged Slovenian non-paper on changing the borders in the Western Balkans, the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Valentin Inzko explained in Odmevi show on Friday who the author of this document really is. It is about a former Balkan director of CIA Steven Meyer, and Dr Inzko held the document in his hands already three years ago.
On Friday, we reported that the European Council had definitively rejected the request of the Austrian news agency APA for access to a document related to the alleged Slovenian non-paper on changing the borders in the Western Balkans. They explained that the publication of this document would affect the EU’s relations with the neighbourliness. “The requested document addresses a very sensitive topic, and its publication would have a clear and direct impact on the EU’s relations with its neighbourliness, thus undermining the public interest in international relations,” the European Council wrote in response. Let us recall that the story began with media reports in BiH, which wrote that Prime Minister Janez Janša supposedly presented this document to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. In the press service of Michel, they only responded to the questions about this document that they cannot confirm that they have received this document. The only media that miraculously “found” the non-paper was the portal Necenzurirano, which claimed that the current Slovenian government wanted to dismember Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I’m sorry, but I had this paper in my hands three years ago. This paper was written by former Balkan CIA director Steven Meyer. And in it, he was basically advocating for a peaceful separation if countries agreed to change borders, to do something together if of course they agree, and then the international community would also bless it,” said in Odmevi show, the current High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Valentin Inzko, who is now leaving BiH after twelve years. He also explained that at the time it was the Donald Trump administration, but now we have a new situation and President Joe Biden will certainly not give his consent for such a change of borders. Of course, this would also be Pandora’s box and would then spread across the Balkans, he added. This news is obviously not so important for the majority media, they preferred writing about the fact that Prime Minister Janša supposedly had something to do with this document – which has now turned out to be not true.
