Crazy: Former UDBA agent and persecutor of priests took over the State Prosecutor’s Council

By: Nova24tv.si

At the inaugural session of the State Prosecutor’s Council, Supreme State Prosecutor Hari Furlan was elected as the new president, and former Attorney General Zvonko Fišer as the vice president, the State Prosecutor’s Council announced after the session. The terms of the current council members expired on Monday, concluding their six-year mandate.

The rule of law in Slovenia is entirely dependent on the personnel of the transitional left – individuals who have not internalised the principles of democracy and human rights and are personally connected to Slovenian “privatisers”, “banksters”, and politicians. Therefore, in the history of our country, there has yet to be a prominent case of the conviction of any of the aforementioned criminals.

It is not surprising that the state of the rule of law has reached a disgracefully low level when the State Prosecutor’s Council, more than 30 years after the collapse of the communist regime, is now led by former member of the State Security Service (UDBA) Harij Furlan and persecutor of the clergy Zvonko Fišer. This represents a complete restoration of the former regime and mockery of all victims of the regime whom these individuals faithfully served.

Who really is Harij Furlan?

Harij Furlan is among the verified personnel of the Slovenian left, as he began his career in the State Security Service or UDBA. This organisation, through its companies, infiltrated the economy even after Slovenia gained independence as a supplier of medical equipment and technical aids. The economic operation pattern of UDBA has been thoroughly exposed, and a family business named Primsell, run by the Furlan family, has operated according to this model for over a decade. Due to various controversial situations, this company has been scrutinised by the public several times. In 2016 and 2017, the media revealed the UDBA history of this company and exploitative deliveries of hips to the Šempeter hospital. Furlan insisted that he acts impartially at the prosecutor’s office, in accordance with the respect for laws and the constitution. Regarding the business dealings of his brother Aleš Furlan, he claimed not to be informed because “the prosecution did not receive any criminal charges” against him or his company.

Who really is Zvonko Fišer?

Zvonko Fišer, in the 1970s and 1980s, among other things, criminally persecuted two priests who had placed a cross at the site of the communist massacre in Cerkno. These priests were Janez Lapajne and Stanislav Medvešček, who, in 1975, together with Amalija Jereb, dignifiedly marked the place of death. Their guilt was solely for placing a cross at the location where locals from Cerkno were killed. It was reported that in 2017, the Supreme Court suspended Fišer, as he was also criminally prosecuted for alleged abuse of official position, which carries a prison sentence of up to one year. In 2012, just before the change of government, with the outgoing Minister of Justice Aleš Zalar, they appointed Boštjan Škrlec as the director of the prosecution, who was then Zalar’s State Secretary. Since birds of a feather flock together, Fišer was acquitted two months later and could return to his position.

The State Prosecutorial Council consists of nine members. Four members are elected by state prosecutors within their ranks, one member is appointed by the Minister of Justice, and four members are elected by the National Assembly on the proposal of the President of the Republic.

The left has completely usurped the State Prosecutorial Council

In November, state prosecutors elected new members, in addition to Furlan, such as Senior State Prosecutor Nadja Sovinc, District State Prosecutor Damir Kusić, and District State Prosecutor Ivan Pridigar. Besides Fišer, Members of Parliament also elected Samo Bardutzky, an associate professor at the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Law, former prosecutor Vlasta Nussdorfer, and the long-time head of the district state prosecution in Celje, Ivan Žaberl.
