The ZNP believes that today’s strike of employees of RTV Slovenia is unnecessary. There are also unjustified demands for the resignation of management. The current leadership has been elected in accordance with the law and all prescribed legal procedures, and therefore has a legal and legitimate mandate.
Also, the current leadership has not done anything to limit journalistic autonomy. Some of the changes made were necessary to increase the plurality of RTVS and its professionalism.
The strike on RTVS is obviously led and encouraged by those who want nothing to change on RTVS, but in recent years they have not done anything to make RTV more plural and professional, which the ZNP has been warning about for many years. It is obviously a matter of defending the acquired privileges and resisting any changes that are urgently needed.
