According to the European Statistical Office, the unemployment rate among young people under Janša’s government was below the EU average and among the lowest in the EU

According to the latest report on youth unemployment by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat), last year, under the centre-right government of Janez Janša, the unemployment rate among young people (aged 15 to 29) was below the EU average and among the lowest in the European Union.

The youth unemployment rate (people aged 15 to 29) in the EU was 13% in 2021. The unemployment rate in Slovenia was among the lowest among regions in the European Union.

The lowest youth unemployment rates in 2021 are otherwise recorded in the eastern regions of the EU: 4 regions in the Czech Republic, 3 regions in Hungary, and one region in Poland. High rates of youth unemployment were found in Southern Europe. In 23 regions, 30.0 percent or more of the labour force between the ages of 15 and 29 were unemployed.
