After Marjan Šarec announced his departure from the position of Prime Minister and thus threw in the towel, the country faced the first wave of an epidemic of a new coronavirus. As preparations for the epidemic did not go smoothly, and when it was already clear how serious it was in neighbouring Italy, the current government was facing a severe challenge. Namely, there was not enough protective masks and ventilators. “The purchase of medical equipment at the beginning of the epidemic took place under crazy circumstances,” explained Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivalšek, adding that he and his colleagues at the ministry did everything in their power to ensure that health care was provided with equipment in the shortest possible time. Počivalšek, who unlike many others in Šarec’s government, did not throw in the towel, as he was aware, among other things, that in such conditions preliminary elections are not in the least for the benefit of citizens, found himself among the targets of a deep state. Its goal was to weaken individual members of the government as much as possible in order to return theirs to power. However, in doing so they cared very little about the fact that we are in the second wave of the epidemic, and the third wave is threatening.
After DeSUS and SMC MPs decided to take responsibility and take the helm of the new government despite the turbulent sea, they thwarted the plans of all those who hoped for preliminary elections. Given the chronic shortage of protective and medical equipment, there was a need to ensure this in the shortest possible time. If they waited, as is it common in our country, even more people could die, but we could not afford that. Despite the fact that co-responsibility for the situation in which we found ourselves in is on the side of today’s opposition, they were not able to self-reflect. They rather attacked the government, saying that these measures were meaningless, the government spokesman Jelko Kacin got on their nerves, etc.
With the help of Galet and creators of Tarča show, they created an alleged affair
After seeing that the purchase of protective equipment ran smoothly, the agents of the deep state made sure that in conjunction with public RTV Slovenija, they took care of the alleged affair “protective equipment”. For this, they took advantage of the now former employee of the Commodity Reserves Institute Ivan Galet and presented him on the show Tarča as a so-called whistleblower. Immediately after that, in order to gain opponents of the government, they created a Facebook group in support of Ivan Galet, which, as expected, soon turned into a real factory of hatred. The same is true for other Facebook groups, that have grown like mushrooms after rain, with the intention of calling for participation in anti-government protests. With them, they did not only target non-governmental organisation, but also those who are not interested in politics, making it even easier to convince them with populist clichés. With the help of further sagas of the Tarča show and the testimonies of “independent” experts, who soon turned out to be far from that, they continued to exert pressure.
An interpellation and investigation at home followed
Pressures were in favour of the opposition to divert attention of the public from the fact that it was co-responsible for that that the new government while facing the epidemic was welcomed with empty warehouses of protective equipment. First they tried to point the finger at the Minister of Defence, Matej Tonin, and showed the public the news that his mother was involved in the contract between the Institute for Commodity Reserves and Acron company. Tonin immediately and resolutely denied this, and soon others realised this as well. The opposition therefore decided to first file an interpellation against Zdravko Počivalšek, with which, among other things, they calculated that they will, with the help of obedient central media, create so much pressure on SMC MPs and other coalition MPs that the government would begin to fall apart. As minister Počivalšek argued the allegations with facts and revealed that their whistleblower also signed contracts that they find controversial, their attempt failed miserably. Then they decided to interpellate the Minister of the Interior, Aleš Hojs. This was followed by a house search of the NPU at the home of Minister Počivalšek. As Minster Hojs perceived that the NPU investigations were politically motivated activities, he decided to accept political responsibility and offered his resignation. Hojs’s interpellation also ended in favour of the Minister at the expense of a strong ideological orientation, and Prime Minister Janez Janša accordingly decided to call on Hojs to continue his ministry.
As all attempts to put pressure on ministers failed, anti-government protestors made it to the forefront, who overnight became interested in cleanliness of nature. However, when in the past the dirtiest projects were build, there was no sign of them anywhere. At the protests, where death was threatened with, it was also possible to see many opposition MPs hoping to gain some cheap political points. When autumn came it became clear that the number of covid infections was increasing. Despite the fact that the profession, considering neighbouring Italy, designed a measure that required children to wear protective masks in schools, the pressure from the opposition, especially from the SD party and SVIZ trade union (Branimir Štrukelj), was so strong that the measure was softened. When it became known that the number of infections had started to rise again, they naturally changed opinions, saying how incompetent the government is and does not listen to the profession. Influencers of Zlatko’s type surfaced, for whom it was later found out he supported LMŠ party in the past. During his participation in politics, Zlatko put pressure on the Minister of Culture, Vasko Simoniti, and even attacked the director of the NIJZ, where the question raises how Zlatko even knew where to find Milan Krek at that time.
As an alternative, they presented the KUL coalition
In addition, that the opposition is constantly dealing with trying to sell the story of pressure on independent central media, despite these have been reporting subjectively and unprofessionally since day one of the new government, they also focused on forming a KUL coalition led by the saviour Jože P. Damijan. Even though they wanted to convince the public that they represented a serious alternative to the situation, it soon became clear that this was not the case. After all, they did not know how to serve anything concrete, and it is more than obvious that there are differences and resentments, stemming from the time of Šareč’s government, among the parties of LMŠ, SD, SAB, and Levica. As the results of a recent opinion poll showed that the LMŠ party is performing better than other opposition parties, it became clear that preliminary elections are a recipe for LMŠ to gain less competition in the political space.
After the departure of Aleksandra Pivec, the pressure on the DeSUS parliamentary group began to increase further in the light of the election of a new party president. As this became Karl Erjavec, who is obviously intrigued of the idea of becoming prime minister, the MPs decisively resisted. However, the story is not quite over yet, as they will continue to talk about this topic. After the president of LMŠ Marjan Šarec announced on Tuesday morning that the LMŠ party, as the largest opposition party, sees the new-old president of the party Karl Erjavec on the position of the prime minister. At the same time, he pointed out that filing a vote of no confidence is something that is urgent, pressure has begun to be put on SMC MPs, whose votes the deep state desperately needs to carry out its project. The KPK attacked the president of a party, Počivalšek, with an investigation. Prime Minister Janez Janša critically reacted to the events and wrote the following: “In the epidemic, Minister Počivalšek was saving the health and lives of people as well as the health care system from collapsing with superhuman efforts. The competent authorities can investigate everything at any time, but the media persecution against him and his colleagues is extremely unfair from a human point of view.”
As we can see, the appetites of the deep state are great, as the period has come when over 10 billion euros of funds, which Janša negotiated in Brussels, will be distributed. It is quite obvious that this is just about money and nothing else, namely it is clear to every blind person that the team that fought to death at the beginning of the year will not act any more playfully now. After all, the differences between those eager for power are enormous, and resentment remains. This, however, cannot be good for the people, but only for a deep state which is hungry for money. Namely, they are aware that they can, among other things, feed their media with it and thus launch stories that are in their favour.
