24ur published a new unreliable report on Slovenia; behind closed doors to discredit the government

“The report is not credible. MPs’ opinions differed. The content of the report should be endorsed by all members of the mission. As a member of the DRFMG, I did not even see the document, let alone validate it. It was being prepared behind closed doors, apparently with the intention of discrediting the Government of the Republic of Slovenia,” said MEP Romana Tomc, revealing new untruths from POP TV. It seems that the reports reached the Slovenian media faster than the MEP. Sophie in ’t Veld is apparently working intensively to discredit the state.

On the website of commercial television, they launched “completely impartially” and “independently” another article full of untruths and misleading claims entitled “MEPs express concern over the atmosphere of hostility in Slovenia”.

They further stated that “the delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties expressed deep concern over the atmosphere of hostility and deep polarisation in the country, according to a draft report prepared based on the findings of a mission to review the rule of law in Slovenia.”

As MEP Romana Tomc commented on the allegations, she has not seen the draft report at all, but different views were reached during the debate, so it is not a single conclusion of the European Parliament delegation. They did not even vote on the report. But this is obviously enough for the Slovenian anti-government media.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss the report on Thursday. We have repeatedly exposed the false reporting of the television company and its portal, which consider themselves to be extremely “professional”, “independent” and “impartial”, but in reality, they act agitpropically, as they have always done.

The media as a political weapon

We discovered one of the last lies in a joint show with RTVS “Skupaj naprej”. Among other things, it was a matter of providing untrue data on government debt. And because Slovenes have less and less faith in both POP TV and RTVS, they were forced to join forces with their propaganda forces. A lie not only becomes true by repeating it several times, but also by telling it louder.
