Ecuadorian rider Richard Carapaz took the Vuelta a Espana overall leader’s red jersey from defending champion Primož Roglič after Spaniard Ion Izagirre won the sixth stage in the Pyrenees.
Finishing 20th today, the Slovenian Jumbo-Visma rider fell to fourth overall, but remains in contention for the overall lead with a 30 second-lag behind Carapaz. That is if the race if continues on Tuesday after a state of emergency was declared for the whole of Spain due to coronavirus.
