The closer the year comes to an end, the bigger the hole in the state budget, and some major expenditures have not even been paid out yet.
All these burdens created by Golob’s government are certainly felt most by the citizens. And the story will be no different in the case of the mandatory Christmas bonus that the current authorities have devised.
If the mandatory Christmas bonus is paid out in the public sector, citizens will have to “cover” it through higher taxes and contributions. In the private sector, it will mean greater pressure on wages and, ultimately, more expensive services. Even the government‑friendly Dnevnik warns that the mandatory bonus will bring higher care fees at concessionary providers, while Minister Simon Maljevac tries to convince people that care fees will be cheaper.
