Lately, there has been a lot of accusations towards the current Slovenian government about the oppression of journalists, including a letter from the International Press Institute and 18 other organizations to the Members of EU Parliament, regarding the supposed lack of freedom of the press in Slovenia, Hungary, and Poland.
As a response to these accusations, which are coming from the Left, Jože Biščak, the editor of the magazine Demokracija and president of the Slovenian Association of Patriotic Journalists, and Vinko Vasle, a long-time journalist and former director of Radio Slovenia, have written a letter in response, which you can read in full here.
But their decision was not taken kindly by the supposedly tolerant and freedom-loving leftists who attacked them for writing their letter. Such attacks came from the safety of anonymity, as they used Twitter to slander and verbally attack the two authors of the letter.
Twitter user Janko Lisjak wrote the following, showing once again the typical leftist tolerance toward those who think differently:
“You two are both Janšist stinking cunts, and you are worth nothing. Janez is implementing the doctrine of Fascism and he is a scum who hates 70 percent of the Slovenes. You stinking janšists, you really are vermin.”
The leftists in Slovenia are becoming more bloodthirsty and hateful each day, despite their rhetoric about “tolerance” and “freedom of speech”, which there are trying to suppress the second it doesn’t mirror their own views.
