The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food has issued an open call to citizens, legal persons or other organisations for identification of the candidates for the 2021 Golden Bee Award.
The Golden Bee Award encourages and supports innovation, excellence of individuals or legal entities that have made a particularly important contribution to the protection and raising awareness of the importance of bees and other pollinators worldwide, while encouraging the efforts and outstanding achievements of individuals and legal persons. The recipient of the award will be selected by the Committee, and the winner will be given a sculpture and a financial award by the President of the Republic of Slovenia.
All applications submitted will be evaluated by the Committee, who will nominate the Award for and outstanding contribution to the promotion of bees and other pollinators to the best candidate. In 2021 the award will be exceptionally issued in December (and not for the World Bee Day in May) due to the closing of the Slovene Presidency of the Council of the EU and fifth anniversary of the UN General Assembly decision to declare 20th May as World Bee Day.
The call is open for two months and applications from Slovenia and abroad are expected.
With Golden Bee Award of the Republic of Slovenia promotes World Bee Day and the transfer of knowledge, technology and the consolidation of the Slovenia as a green, healthy, proactive and innovative country.
