The percentage of those infected is decreasing, but with a violation of measures, it can quickly increase again

 According to government data, 478 infections with the new coronavirus were confirmed in Slovenia on Saturday with 2,620 PCR tests, and the share of positive tests was 18.2 percent. The average number of confirmed cases of infections in the last seven days has further decreased and is currently 792. Hospital treatment was required by 631 covid patients, 154 needed intensive care, and six covid patients died.

Compared to Friday, 1132 fewer PCR tests were performed on Saturday and 288 fewer infections were confirmed. On Saturday, the share of positive tests was 18.2 percent, which is 2.2 percentage points less than on Friday. In addition, 6,584 rapid antigen tests were performed on Saturday and 33,319 on Friday.

In hospitals, two more covid patients are being treated compared to the day before, and three more need intensive care. On Friday, 66 covid patients were discharged from hospitals, and another 41 on Saturday.

Compared to Friday, the seven-day average number of confirmed infections fell from 801 to 792. According to the country-specific release plan, this is in the orange phase of the measures, and for the transition to the yellow phase, the seven-day average has to fall below 600. The orange phase of the measures also includes the number of hospitalized people, which must fall below 500 to transition into the yellow phase. STA also writes that regardless of these criteria, measures are in force in individual regions, as were adopted by the government in the middle of the week given the situation in each region at the time.

According to government data published today, the highest incidence of infections in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants is still recorded in the Primorsko-Notranjska (789.2) and Savinjska regions (713.4), and the lowest in the Obalno-kraška (347.4) and Goriška regions (479.6) as well as the Pomurje region (493). At the national level, the 14-day incidence of infections per 100,000 population is 565.2, which is less than the day before, when it was 576.3.

According to the National Institute of Public Health, there are 11,911 active cases of infections in Slovenia.
