Although the KUL Coalition talks about caring for the little man, the truth is just the opposite: The Kul Coalition is led by people who love money more than anything else in the world. Much has already been said about the salary of the SD party president, Tanja Fajon: she earns nine thousand euros a month as an MEP. This is five times the Slovenian average salary, and it should be noted that as many as two thirds of Slovenes have a below-average salary.
Jože Damijan, who is supposed to lead this coalition when he manages to count to 46, loves money even more. For now, only his euros speak of his mathematics, and this during a situation when material standards of ordinary people would have reduced dramatically had the government not taken decisive action to help people and businesses.
So let’s look at the war profiteer, former neoliberal and a multiple-time convert Jože Damijan, employed at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana. A full-time professor without any benefits receives a basic salary of 3,400 euros before taxes at the Faculty of Economics, which is twice the average Slovenian salary. Let’s leave aside the fact that Jože Damijan does not earn a basic salary, but a higher one in addition to benefits.
His afternoon earnings stand out.
Already in 2009, the left-wing official newspaper Mladina problematized his income at the telecommunications agency Apek, when in addition to his regular salary he received another six thousand euros a month for the analysis of the prices of mobile providers. Damijan thus received as much as 1,500 euros per page of his analysis or a total of 47,390 euros from the Apek agency!
To this day, Jože Damijan has only deepened his love for money: Siol revealed Damijan’s additional income last weekend:
LMŠ, led by Marjan Šarec, paid him 18,300 euros this year! Nobody knows what he advised them, and we cannot claim from what Marjan Šarec says that the student learned anything from the professor.
Last year LMŠ also helped full-time employed Damijan, and it transferred him 41,333 euros! This is how much a well-equipped car of the prestigious German brand Audio A4 Avant costs!
Damijan’s company GRANT THORNTON ADVISORY, co-owned by his current wife Sandra, reported a staggering 394 thousand euros in revenue last year. For this money, Jože and Sandra Damijan can buy a 158-square-meter 3-bedroom apartment in Ljubljana’s Vižmarje district, which is being sold by Zoran Đukić’s Stoja agency. Coincidence or fate? The real estate agent Đukić is the son-in-law of the construction tycoon Stojan Petrič and the employer of Jože Damijan. Remember how a year ago Jože Damijan wrote economic comments about how the government should entrust the construction of the second tunnel in the Karavanke to a local builder (read: Petrič’s Kolektor), completely forgetting to disclose that Kolektor had transferred money to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which then paid for Damijan’s analysis exactly the same amount? It should be mentioned that Damijan published his writings in Petrič’s factory newspaper Delo and earned even more money by publishing them.
The money for the apartment’s equipment could be provided by their other company L. i. f. e., which last year had as much as 52,144 euros in revenue.
What other Slovene can brag about earning another half a million euros in addition to a secure regular job? Next time, when Jože Damijan, in the company of other left-wing socialists with high salaries, talks to you about the welfare state, hold on tight to your wallets!
