Super League president Florentino Perez sharply reacted to Čeferin: “Let Uefa change, we do not want a president who insults so much”!

The first president of the newly formed football Super League, Florentino Perez, and the long-time first man of Real Madrid, appeared in front of the cameras on Monday night, where he explained the creation of the new league in the show El Chiringuito. He also reacted sharply to Čeferin’s condemnations and insults of Andrea Agnelli, Perez’s ally and president of Juventus. “What the Uefa president must not do is insult, as he insulted Agnelli. Unimaginable! Let Uefa change, we do not want a president who insults so much! I do not know how he imagines this in a democratic Europe!”

He also called Čeferin’s threats, that clubs that will go to this closed league await exclusion from competitions and that players from these clubs will not be allowed to play for the national team, inadmissible. “Uefa threatens players with exclusion, but they can be calm, it will not happen, it is illegal. Real will not be excluded from either the championship or the Champions League. Uefa is a monopolist, but that is the end of it.”

In the show, Perez also touched on Uefa’s proposal to renovate the Champions League, which comes into force in 2024: “This is absurd, by then we will all be dead!” They want to start the Super League in August, they can wait 1 year for a dialogue with Uefa. He says that the league will not be closed, what the criteria for invitations will be, has not yet been determined.
