Statement of the day: Nemec is the first person who managed to interpellate the Administrative Court and the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia at the same time!

“I have not read the interpellation yet, but I already ordered a bucket of popcorn. Hojs will deal with Nemec in a legendary manner. Nemec is the first person who managed to interpellate the Administrative Court and the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia at the same time. This will not be a fair rhetorical fight; I feel sorry for Nemec, I will start collecting corks for him.”

The opposition parties – SD, LMŠ, Levica and SAB – filed an interpellation against the Minister of the Interior Aleš Hojs, due to the ministry’s decision to allow a concert by the Croatian singer Marko Perković Thompson.

Many experts believe that in this case, the interpellation is completely wrong, as the Minister has nothing to do with the decision, and the decision only follows the ruling of the Administrative Court and is also based on the Constitution and the decision of the European Court of Human Rights.

Nemec will be sweating
Lawyer Drago Zadergal’s opinion is similar, as he wrote that he has already ordered a bucket of popcorn, which suggests that the interpellation will definitely be very interesting. “Hojs will deal with Nemec in a legendary manner. Nemec is the first person who managed to interpellate the Administrative Court and the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia at the same time. This will not be a fair rhetorical fight, I feel sorry for Nemec, I will start collecting corks for him,” he also wrote on Twitter. It seems that the MP Nemec, who more than obviously does not know the legal procedures well, will not only be sweating at the press conference but also when defending the case in the National Assembly when the interpellation will be presented.

Interestingly, the opposition is accusing the government and Minister Hojs of NOT politically interfering in the proceedings of the independent state body, which issued the decision. This kind of political bickering is interesting precisely because the opposition has previously accused the government of numerous interferences in the functioning of independent state bodies.
