»At SLS, we are appalled by the fact that tomorrow’s rally, aimed at opposing the possible future government, was named a »Rally against the Coalition of Hate« by the organizers. We find it unacceptable to use the name »Coalition of Hate« for the possible future coalition, for the formation of which, more than half of the MPs of the National Assembly contributed their signatures; which is supported by all of the major economic associations of Slovenia; and got the support of almost half of all Slovenian mayours in just a few days. This is an unacceptable, hostile and destructive attempt at preventing the formation of a government, consisting of centre-right and centre-left parties, which were able to achieve dialogue and gather the courage needed to find common ground and form a government programme that surpasses the differences in their political ideologies and their individual programmes, and will focus on solving the critical questions of these unpredictable times, ranging from healthcare, security, to economy and social questions,« SLS wrote.
Members of SLS are appalled by the fact that tomorrow’s rally, aimed at opposing the possible future government, was named a »Rally against the Coalition of Hate« by the organizers. As they have pointed out, they find a well-argued opposition of a possible government or the contents of its work, completely legitimate. However, they find the incitement for additional divisiveness and disagreements of the Slovenian public, which is still burdened by its past divisions, unacceptable – especially as the involvement of ideologically different parties in our country is still usually an exception, rather than the rule.
That is why SLS is supportive of the formation of a new government, for which they believe will, despite its financial and time constrictions, be able to bring Slovenia towards a more balanced development, a more just country, that is governed by the rule of law, and will also have better opportunities for the functioning of the economy and better social justice.
Callin on the representatives of the institutions fo pick a side in the matter of unacceptable labeling of Slovenians
»We are calling on the organizers of tomorrow’s protest, to refrain from the unacceptable, undemocratic pressures on the legitimate decision-making of the representatives of the people in the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia,« they wrote. They also called on the representatives of all relevant institutions in Slovenia, to pick a side in the matter of the unacceptable labeling of the MPs and voters of the four Slovenian political parties, which are being called the »Coalition of Hate.« The name »Coallition of Hate« is in itself inherently hostile. By picking a side, the highest representatives of Slovenia would foster a spirit of cooperation and connection and would take a stand against possible further divisions.
