Slovenia called on the countries that still have the death penality to fully abolish it on World Day Against the Death Penalty. The death penalty, which Slovenia firmly opposes is inhumane, cruel, demining and final form of punishment, the Foreign Ministry wrote on Sunday.

As this year’s World Day Against the Death Penalty is dedicated to women who have been sentenced to death or executed and those who have been exonerated, the ministry noted that in some countries women were being discriminated because of their gender and thus put in a worse position than men.
