Today, Prime Minister Janez Janša visited the Jesenice General Hospital. He observed how the construction work was going on in the hospital, and met with the director of the hospital, Marko Toplak, and other representatives of the management of the Jesenice Hospital.
“Thank you to the team of the Jesenice General Hospital for the excellent, selfless work in difficult conditions # COVID19. #Gorenjska needs new medical capacities as soon as possible,” he noted, adding that the government is determined to provide them.

The current government will get things moving
Earlier this week, the director of the University Medical Center Ljubljana, Janez Poklukar, announced that new premises had been opened for patients with COVID-19 and explained that the premises had been prepared within ten days. He thanked the contractor, the Civil Protection, the Slovenian Army, the supervision of construction works, the municipality of Ljubljana and the Gospodarsko razstavišče, as well as all employees of the Clinical Center. He said that together we can and must spread positive energy. UKC employees, he said, have been waiting 12 years for the new premises to be completed.
The spread of positive energy can also be observed among the residents of Jesenice, who are obviously well aware of the pressure that health care workers are currently under. There are many good individuals who help by providing health workers with snacks and home-made delicacies. Healthcare professionals appreciate this. “We believe in you as you believe in us. Together we will definitely succeed,” they say.
