In a confrontation with the coordinator and resigning MP of the Levica party, Luka Mesec, on June 7th, 2021 on POP TV, SDS MP Branko Grims explained why the Levica party is an unconstitutional party. As he pointed out, Levica wants to expropriate entrepreneurs and transfer their property elsewhere. “And to create a system that we have already seen and in which we have already lived. We have decided for a different system, for a different country.”

“In a democratic society, parliament is the place where all issues must be addressed. Also questions about the radicalisation of the left and where it is leading – unfortunately this is the whole global process that is happening. Namely, they are offering the abolition and destruction of constitutional values,” SDS MP Branko Grims said on POP TV in a confrontation with the coordinator of the Levica, Luka Mesec.

“Everything I have mentioned is from the Levica party programme. Quoted and you can check it on their website. And all this is in conflict with the Slovenian Constitution. What Luka Mesec is doing is pointing the finger at others and blaming others for the things they are doing in the Levica,” Grims explained.

Grims went on to point out that the ideas found in the Levica party’s programme are based on workers’ governance, on social and common property, on democratic planning. “All these are characteristics of socialism and are not in accordance with our constitution. No one should be above the constitution and above the law,” the SDS MP was clear.

In the unconstitutional programme of the already mentioned party, the goals include the abolition of capitalism, the return of company ownership to workers, and the establishment of workers’ and farmers’ cooperatives. The matter is all the more worrying due to the fact that Slovenia’s constitutionally protected values are private property, entrepreneurship, and private initiative.

Freedom of speech is also a fundamental protected right, and the Levica Party’s programme violates all this. Grims also mentioned a key issue for which the SDS party strives for to live better in our country and how the Levica prevents this: “In the SDS, we want mass migration to be limited and family policy to be a principle in Slovenia. That Slovenians have as many children as possible. When we say this in the National Assembly, the Levica party insults us with fascists.”
