Ljubljana Mayor Met With The President Of The Supreme Court The Day Before His Acquittal!

By: Domen Mezeg (Nova24tv.si)

New evidence of the fusion between politics and the judiciary: at the recent football match between Slovenia and Denmark, cameras caught the criminally charged Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, and the President of the Supreme Court, Miodrag Đorđević, shaking hands in a friendly manner. The very next day, Janković was acquitted in the Stožice case. The Mayor’s son, Jure Janković, was also sitting nearby. It is also worth noting that the Mayor and the President of the Court also met at the summit of the Slovenian and Russian judiciaries a few years ago.

The fact that the words of Aleš Primc that the judiciary cannot even be counted on in the case of the so-called “shit pipe” – a sewage canal that runs through a water catchment area – are true was further confirmed by the video of the recent football match between Slovenia and Denmark. The video was published by Petra Janša, a journalist for the weekly Demokracija (Democracy). The President of the Supreme Court, Miodrag Đorđević, greeted the Sheriff of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, in the stands. Handshakes and smiles followed. The match took place on the 19th of June, and the very next day, Janković was acquitted in the Stožice case.

They practically fell into each other’s arms, just like Minister of Justice Dominika Švarc Pipan did recently at the partisan “procession” at Orle in May. Alongside his father was Janković’s ever-smiling younger son, Jure Janković. Someone wrote on Twitter: “If you are friends with Milan Kučan, Minister of Justice Dominika Švarc Pipan, President of the Supreme Court Miodrag Đorđević and at the same time you are against Janez Janša, then you will never be convicted!”

Janković trusts the Slovenian judiciary and is an opponent of Janez Janša’s policies

It is also worth noting that both Janković and Đorđević attended a summit of the Slovenian and Russian judiciaries a few years ago. Janković was already shining like a star when he received Putin’s decoration, which he still proudly keeps. Finally, let us remind you of Janković’s fake words that “he will never go to jail because he has always been an opponent of Janez Janša’s policies”. Janković also regularly stresses that he trusts the Slovenian judiciary, while most ordinary citizens do not. We at Nova24TV also warned even before he accepted the position of President of the Supreme Court that Đorđević does not have the integrity to ensure the appearance of independence of the country’s highest court. We have also warned that he is a member of the left-wing political elite, which maintains the judiciary as an extended arm rather than as an independent branch of government that controls politics when necessary.

We also sent questions about the meeting between the President of the Supreme Court, Miodrag Đorđević, and Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković to the Supreme Court, the Judicial Council and the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption. We are still waiting for further clarifications.

The Supreme Court, however, has written the following on the matter: “The President of the Supreme Court met a lot of people at the match by chance. In all cases, he followed the rules of etiquette and shook hands with people with whom he is formally acquainted. The same applies to the person you are asking about. Such a gesture has nothing to do with the decision-making of judges at any level of the ordinary judiciary, as judges are autonomous and independent in their decision-making and follow only the Constitution and the applicable law. In light of all of this, there is no basis for his resignation.”
