In the name of “doing something”, Šarec made over 200 personnel changes and did nothing, but now he is criticising the government, that actually works for the wellbeing of its people!

Marjan Šarec reiterated things that are primarily aimed at him. He criticises the current government for personnel changes claiming that they want to subjugate all systems and corrupt practices. Šarec must have forgotten about his personnel changes, which were quite thorough. During his reign, he carried out as many as 252 personnel changes, ranging from the police to the judiciary, infrastructure, directors of directorates and other public institutions.

“The government of Janez Janša wants to subjugate all systems so that it can cover up corrupt practices. This is something that we have been witnessing since the beginning of his government, ”says former Prime Minister Marjan Šarec, who made as many as 252 personnel changes during his short reign. His government intensively set up its people to positions practically during all of its sessions, which often lasted only a few minutes.

Such personnel changes are common with the arrival of new governments, as the government appoints people it trusts and can work with. However, despite making so many changes, Šarec’s government work has not proven effective. As can be seen from the review of personnel changes during Šarec’s government, the latter actually dealt with recruitment at each of its sessions. There were at least 200 personnel changes, with friendly personnel close to the coalition parties being appointed to well-paid official positions.

“If you reshape as they had envisioned, then you can get rid of the directors. It will happen just like at the National Investigation Office (NPU), when they appointed their people in all systems and subsystems so that they can sweep under the carpet all the indecent things we are witnessing in this government, ”Šarec added.

Appointment of their personnel without public calls for applicants

On the 4th of October 2018, Šarec’s government dismissed the Director General of the Police, Simon Velički, and on the 5th of October 2018, appointed Tatjana Bobnar as the Acting Director General of the Police. On 1 June 2019, Darko Muženič, the current director of the Office for the Prevention of Money Laundering, took over the management of the National Investigation Office – NPU, a decision made by Bobnar. Five candidates applied for the position, yet Bobnar rejected everyone and chose Muženič when the tender was repeated.

On the 20th of September 2019, the media announced that the former director of the Criminal Police Administration, Branko Japelj, had formally left to work in Serbia, while Boštjan Lindav took over the function of the director of the Criminal Police Administration on the 24th of September 2018. Šarec says that the government wants to subjugate all systems in order to cover up corrupt practices. The question what was Šarec’s reason for changing personnel and subordinating all systems arises as well as whether he is judging the current government based on his own actions.
