“I have positioned myself on the right side of history,” revealed Prime Minister Robert Golob as he posed next to half a million euros in aid sent to Palestinians in the week when he had not yet found a replacement for Dominika Švarc Pipan.
He did so after a Ninamedia survey, following a series of scandals involving the ruling party, showed that more voters would support the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) than all three coalition parties combined. This occurred just as the President of the Republic, Nataša Pirc Musar, called for European Parliament elections, which will be the first true test of party strength after the parliamentary elections two years ago. On the left, a fierce battle is already underway, including discussions on who would financially support the Palestinians more in the war they initiated from Gaza against Israel and who would be responsible for the millions the government spends in occasionally bizarre ways.
Half a million in aid, at which Golob took a photo, is a small amount, considering that before the new year, the government delighted Sebastjan Vežnaver with 7.7 million for a dilapidated business building on Litijska Street, which had cost him 1.7 million at the end of 2019. Golob took a photo with aid sent via Jordan and not the additional half a million transferred by UNRWA, whose payments were halted by most “core” Western countries because UNRWA employees were involved in murders, rapes, and kidnappings of civilians, even infants, in Israel.
When it comes to Israel, our authorities have banned the use of national flags in today’s basketball match between Israel and Slovenia. In the past, President Borut Pahor was fond of waving our flag. They prohibited foreign flags. The changes are significant and indicate difficulties faced by Slovenian authorities, especially when swastikas appeared at the Jewish Cultural Centre in Ljubljana, and in front of the Prešeren Monument, we heard cries of Allah Akbar and calls from Palestinians waving their flags. Such actions could lead to criminal prosecution in Germany. The background to these events became apparent in France, where the media revealed that swastikas on Jewish buildings were the work of the Russian intelligence service FSB. After the war initiated by Hamas from Gaza, they are attempting to spread chaos and exacerbate conflicts in the West.
During the time when Golob was leaning towards the true side of left history before the European elections, the President of the largest opposition party SDS, Janez Janša, visited Israel and announced that when the centre-right takes power again, our country’s embassy will be relocated to Jerusalem, as it is the capital of the State of Israel. Pro-government media immediately accused him of conducting parallel foreign policy. More accurately, he balanced it closer to the core states of Europe and the West. The left government relies far beyond the core of the West, believing that the true side of history is there.
From the top of the Ministry of Justice, Dominika Švarc Pipan, after the National Assembly had already been informed of her resignation, and Golob left her at the top while looking for a successor, sent a special study to the media on how the government managed to make Vežnaver happy. This report is full of blacked-out sections that we are not supposed to know. However, as expected, chapters are missing on how and why all ministers hastily reallocated money from reserves and allocations for this purchase just before the new year, why the city municipality of Ljubljana under Zoran Janković promptly renounced the pre-emptive right, and who in the government benefited, as they claim it involved corruption and crime. In the part they “investigated”, they did not excel. For the inspection of the building, they have already purchased, and for which they do not know whether it was carried out, they wrote that it was planned for mid-August this year.
If it is not an error, it is no wonder that this inspection, because the government rushed with payment, has not yet been conducted.
They have surpassed all plans with the purchase. Even history itself.
