First reactions to Golob’s assembled ministerial team: God help us!

By Peter Truden (Nova24tv)

“Say it’s a joke,” is one of the first responses on Twitter when Robert Golob, Tanja Fajon, and Luka Mesec revealed 15 of the 19 ministerial names. Among the champions of the failed parties, Marjan Šarec won the Ministry of Defence and Alenka Bratušek the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The leaders of the Gibanje Svoboda, SD, and Levica, Robert Golob, Tanja Fajon, and Luka Mesec, today coordinated the programme part of the coalition agreement and shared ministerial functions. Three ministries will be new, one of them, for the future of solidarity, will be led by Mesec. Fajon will lead the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There will be 19 ministries in the new government, and three will be new, namely the Ministry of Solidarity Future, the Ministry of Climate and Energy, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation. The government bill will be submitted to the parliamentary procedure after Friday’s first session of the National Assembly.

Certainly, the names – Marjan Šarec and Alenka Bratušek – cause the most stir – they failed to cross the parliamentary threshold with their parties, and Golob “revived them politically”. This is the price he paid for the future merger of the three parties into one and their field base. What the final proceeds will be, time will tell, but analysts are not in favour of the move. Among the controversial names are the gravedigger of Adria Airways Klemen Boštjančič, who will be the Minister of Finance, Bojan Kumer, who will be the Minister of Climate and Energy, Matjaž Han with only a high school education, Dominika Švarc Pipan

Even other names do not represent the best staff, which would inspire optimism for the regulation of key system areas:

– Ministry of Climate and Energy: Bojan Kumer

– Ministry of Solidarity Future: Luka Mesec

– Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation: Igor Papič

– Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs: Tanja Fajon

– Ministry of the Interior: Tatjana Bobnar

– Ministry of Defence: Marjan Šarec

– Ministry of Finance: Klemen Boštjančič

– Ministry of Infrastructure: Alenka Bratušek

– Ministry of Nature and Environmental Protection: Uroš Brežan

– Ministry of Education: Amalija Žakelj

– Ministry of Justice: Dominika Švarc Pipan

– Ministry of the Economy, Sports, and Tourism: Matjaž Han

– Ministry of Public Administration, Self-Government: Sanja Ajanović Hovnik

– Ministry of Health: Danijel Bešič Loredan

– Ministry of Foreigners and Slovenes Abroad: Matej Arčon

The first responses from Twitter have already provided interesting comments:

What a shame! Resuscitation of political corpses, humiliating politicking, contentious division of spoils, not government! The triumph of a stuffy province, neither from professionalism nor from cosmopolitanism. Every new face is a bigger disappointment. Grab your wallets. And kick the kids out.

OH GOD PROTECT US FROM ALL THE EVIL… THIS IDIOT DOESN’T EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF THE MINISTRY THAT WAS PICKED FOR HIM😬🤦‍♀️TWITTER.COM/YKUKFVP2RO

Can you imagine his face when Matjaž Han drew the Ministry of the Economy? And next was Milan M. Cvikl with the short straw? This is that SD’s lottery expertise.

  • @JasaLorencic, May 11, 2022

Anyway, Luka got the best. There at the Ministry of Solidarity Future he will scratch his balls, never guilty of anything…

  • @hrastelj, May 11, 2022

Minister for a solidary future? They probably think 🌞SOLAR future, solar cells and all that … Just what will 🌜 Mesec then do there?

  • @GalKusar, May 11, 2022

WHY does this formation of the government, the entry of Šarec and Bratušek among the ministers reminds me of a PARODY of the state.

They are making a very bad reality show out of the COUNTRY.

AND UNFORTUNATELY, a large part of the people has participated and is still participating constructively.

ANOTHER EXPERIMENT unfortunately also with us in a supporting role?

  • @JanezMalavai, May 11, 2022

Given that the Ministry of Culture belongs to the Levica after the division, there are at least two names among the logical choices for the new ministers: J. Jenull and M. Štefančič.

Where did we fall to?!

These do not even master the slightest political craft:

➡️ they come to present the ministers, they list 15 names out of 20 from their heads, of which Golob has not even filled his quota

@Gibanje_Svoboda. 👇

“Ministry of Solidarity Future.” 🤣😂🤣

  • @Anazagozen, May 11, 2022

Well … the only thing that surprised me was that Karl is nowhere to be found (there is no emoji for to paste here)

  • @TinaBertoncelj, May 11, 2022

Admit that no matter who you voted for, you got goosebumps when you heard that the defence of the country in the midst of the coming fascist invasion of the free world will be led by this unfortunate soul.

  • @MithaIrsic, May 11, 2022

Šarec will be looking for a towel he threw in the ring years ago at the Ministry of Defence. 😂
