At the press conference, Government spokesperson Jelko Kacin presented the current data on the epidemiological situation in Slovenia and neighbouring countries.

On Thursday, a record 1,733 tests were performed and 47 cases of infections were confirmed. Twenty-four patients are hospitalised, three require intensive care, but there were no new deaths. The Ljubljana municipality stands out with 100 active cases of infections.

The most relevant information for comparing the situation in different countries is the number of infections in the last 14 days per 100,000 people. This number is 16.70 in Hungary, 24.16 in Slovenia, 27.00 in Italy and 92.37 in Croatia.

Since 1 June Croatia has stood out as a source of imported infections. There were 202 cases imported from that country, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina with 49 cases, Serbia with 30 cases and Kosovo with 22 cases.

Another topical piece of information is the number of infections with unknown origin. The persons in question do not remember where they could have been infected or do not wish to reveal this information, in order to protect their friends or co-workers from being quarantined. The Ljubljana region has the greatest number of such cases, at 102. This region is followed by the Savinjska region with 58 and Gorenjska with 28 such cases.
