The Ministry of Digital Transformation, led by Emilija Stojmenova Duh, has published a call for applications for four general directors of directorates “for searching for ore and wasting time”, as observers and critics on social media have dubbed it.

Stojmenova Duh is looking for general directors for the Directorate for User Support, the Directorate for the Digital Society, the Directorate for the Development of Digital Solutions and Data Economy, and the Directorate for Digital Infrastructure. These are newly established directorates, similar to the ministry itself, which was newly created for the needs of the appointed minister and the employment of Gibanje Svoboda personnel.

The deadline for applications expires tomorrow, on Thursday, September 14th, 2023. Emilija Stojmenova Duh ran in the last parliamentary elections on the SD party list and, after losing, switched to Robert Golob’s Gibanje Svoboda party overnight. Her reward was a ministerial position in the newly established ministry, where she is now employing trusted personnel.

Former Minister of Education, Dr Žiga Turk, commented on the news about the call for (unnecessary) directors of directorates. He stated on social media X (previously Twitter) that two directorates were also established in the field of education, each with two directors: one for kindergartens and elementary schools, and the other for secondary and higher education. He added, “This is mockery of taxpayers, politics, and public administration…” This ministry was also newly established.

Both ministries, the Ministry for Digital Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Education, are led by ministers from Robert Golob’s Gibanje Svoboda party.
