On Sunday, at eight o’clock in the evening, the Italian security authorities informed that they were following an Audi A4 vehicle with Koper registration plates, which had fled from Italy, where it had been stopped several times, back to Slovenia, towards Osp. The fleeing vehicle drove onto the motorway towards Ljubljana, past the Kastelec exit into a tunnel, where the Italian security authorities stopped following it. Slovenian police officers stopped the vehicle at the Divača exit, where they set up a blocking point. The driver was a 24-year-old citizen of Kosovo, temporarily residing in Slovenia, and the passenger was a 22-year-old citizen of Slovenia. There were three other Turkish citizens in the vehicle who came to Slovenia illegally. A criminal complaint follows the driver and a passenger, and the proceedings are still ongoing. Interviews established that the driver had entered Italy in Plavje, where two police vehicles tried to stop him immediately, but fled first to Italy and then fled back to Slovenia, where he was also arrested.

On Saturday evening, police officers stopped a Croatian-registered R Clio car driven by a 29-year-old Croatian citizen between Butari and Galantiči. There were 4 more Iraqi citizens in the vehicle who came to Slovenia illegally. They crossed the border illegally at around 21.00 near the Brezovica border crossing, and continued on foot to the Brezovica – Sirči crossroads, where they were picked up by a driver. The driver was brought to the investigating judge with a criminal complaint, who has already ordered his detention.

At 22.00, also on Saturday, a car driven by a 45-year-old Croatian citizen with a passenger, a 30-year-old Croatian citizen, was stopped in the village of Kortina. There were four other illegal migrants in the vehicle, two Egyptians and two Iraqis. Both guides were brought to the investigating judge with a criminal complaint, who ordered detention for both.

Police officers from Ilirska Bistrica dealt with three more Afghan citizens on Sunday evening, and Koper police officers dealt with two Kosovo citizens.
