Some holiday questions for Tanja Fajon

In the show “Pogovor z opozicijo” on RTV SLO a few days ago, Tanja Fajon spoke wisely, especially when asked whether she will attend the central celebration of the 30th anniversary of Slovenia’s independence or not. The answer could be simple – yes or no. However, Tanja Fajon said that she was in a bad mood at the police cordons that will guard this event, at the obviously disappointed citizens over this government, and continued that she was saddened by Slovenia’s international reputation, especially in Brussels and the like.

Therefore, I publicly ask the following question to Tanja Fajon. To make her job easier, I also offer her answers. Police have guarded all state celebrations since 1991. Some with a few police officers directing traffic, others with fences, police cordons, or even a water cannon.

  • Why did the police generally guard state celebrations organised by left wing governments with a few police officers directing traffic? Because no violent protests of the right wing political option were announced during these celebrations?
  • Why did the police protect some state celebrations, usually those organised by the Janša governments, with police cordon fences or even a water cannon? Because during the official state celebrations, unreported violent protests by leftists were announced, supported by left wing political parties, and its prominent representatives attended, and obviously this will be the case this year as well.

What about protests in general? These are permitted under constitutional and legal conditions and even constitutionally protected. Mrs. Tanja Fajon, please answer the following questions:

  • Do you perhaps know of a case where right-wingers would organise a protest rally and not report it to the police? On the left side, there are as many such examples as you want, including the cycling around Ljubljana that you took part in yourself.
  • Do you know of a case where right-wingers in Ljubljana would organise any kind of anti-assembly or protest during the official state celebrations on the same day and at the same time? Of course, we have organised as many separate national celebrations as you want, but always outside Ljubljana and never at the same time.
  • Did you know that all left wing protest rallies, both 2012/13 and 2020/21, were unreported and as such posed a security risk to the police, who had to protect them with a number of police units and, in the event of violence, use water cannon? There are no such cases on the right political side.
  • Did you know that on the right political side we also organised a lot of protests in front of the court in Ljubljana, a lot of rallies in support of Janez Janša and the like, but all rallies were reported to the police, we organised and paid for police and communal services, thus the police had little or no work? How many such cases have there been on the left political side?

And a few more questions from the European floor, where you have been dancing as an “independent” journalist and now a member of the EU Parliament for the second decade.

  • It is known that as an MEP in the working bodies of the EU Parliament and on all other occasions, you spread inaccurate and malicious information about Slovenia and its upcoming presidency (there is as much evidence as you want). I am not going to ask you why you are doing this, but you can answer for yourself. So are you worried about Slovenia and its government, or perhaps about your lies in Brussels.
  • The right wing political option has been in opposition for many years, but I do not remember a case where our members of the EU Parliament lied about Slovenia in such a way and with such a degree of viciousness. Of course you will find our letters and demands, as well as the appearances of MPs that referred to the wrong trial of Janez Janša, but the Constitutional Court was right, Janez Janša (Article 28 of the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia) was tried for a non-criminal act. So our Members in Brussels were spreading the truth and not a lie.

Maybe one last holiday question, Mrs. Fajon. Have you already been told that you are not the “material” for running any government, let alone a Slovenian one?

See you for the ice cream in Ljubljana, where you invited me last year, but this was “prevented by the evil Janša” by closing restaurants. I will pay, as it befits in a relationship with a lady.
