A Parsifal opinion poll conducted for Nova24TV shows that DeSUS – compared to the previous poll on December 10th when DeSUS MPs resisted to the President Karl Erjavec and achieved and enviable high support (7.1 percent) in the last period – lost some of this support.

As it turns out, Erjavec’s move to leave the coalition is not rewarded among voters. When voters were asked which party they would elect to the Slovenian National Assembly if the elections took place, the largest share of respondents gave their support to the SDS party, namely 20.9 percent. LMŠ party would be chosen by 9.9 percent of respondents, SD party by 8 percent, Levica party by 7.2 percent, and DeSUS party by 6.4 percent of respondents. All other parties would receive less than three percent of support. As many as 36.1 percent of voters were undecided according to this poll. An even stronger drop in DeSUS support is shown by a Mediana poll conducted for POP TV. Among the parties with the highest support, the largest government party SDS is far ahead (17.3 %). The second is SD party (10.2 %) in front of the now third Levica party (8.4 %). LMŠ party slipped to the fourth place (7.3 %) and is ahead of NSi party (5.6 %). The lowest part of the scale starts with SAB party (2.3 %), ahead of Pirati party (1.8 %), DeSUS party (1.7 %), SLS party (1.5 %), and SNS party (1.3 %). The government SMS party records less than one percent of public support, but its president Zdravko Počivalšek is gaining in public opinion, he seems to be rewarded for advocating for the party’s continued existence in the government. For a stable and operational government. As in the aforementioned survey, the biggest jump is for the undecided. Government parties are gaining ground through hard work and the seventh anti-corona legislative package, which shows that people are slowly realising who is working in their best interest in these difficult times. Karl Erjavec, as the destroyer of this government and a potential candidate for prime minister of the so-called KUL coalition, does not have any real support in running for prime minister, according to all polls. Mediana’s research, which was done for Delo newspaper, ranks him among the least suitable left-wing candidates for a prime minister, together with Bratušek. It is obvious that in his return to politics he honestly made a bad decision…

Polls show that DeSUS’s exit from the government has not paid off, and Karl Erjavec does not enjoy any support among the people.
