According to SD party, in recent days the media has been publishing high-profile articles about the supply and use of rapid antigen tests to detect new coronavirus infection. “The contributions focus on the connection of suppliers with the SDS party and on the reliability of tests,” they added. In their view, allegations that the supply of inappropriate tests is linked to SDS party and that it potentially constitutes violations of anti-corruption legislation should be investigated immediately. However, as Bojan Požar reports, the cancellation of testing in Ljubljana was not due to inadequate rapid tests ordered by the government of Janez Janša, but due to inadequate nose sticks, which are ordered by health centres independently. And the director of the Ljubljana Health Center, Rudi Dolšak, is said to be a declared opponent of performing rapid tests.
The left wing opposition not only produces letters from academics from abroad, but it is also at work in creating and promoting “high-profile” media articles, which they especially point out so that no one can overlook them. In doing so, they of course, do not forget to mention the alleged connection with the SDS party. The actions and intentions of the SD party are already so transparent and predictable that it is almost impossible that they would be able to convince anyone else with them. We already wrote yesterday about how a certain option makes affair where there are none, while sweeping their proven controversial deals under the rug. As an example, we cited the affair with vascular splints.
Today, SD deputies submitted a request to convene an emergency session of the parliamentary health committee regarding the legality and transparency of the public procurement for the supply of rapid antigen tests for the new coronavirus and regarding the adequacy of the delivered tests. In doing so, they wrote from the very beginning of the project that for mass testing there have been justified doubts in the public.
Following the introduction of extraordinary quality control, the Public Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices temporarily banned the use of tests today. In the request to convene an emergency session, SD is interested in why the Ministry of Health decided to lower the required standard, which is at least 90% sensitive, from the standard required by hospitals in independent procurement, when purchasing rapid tests. According to SD party, it is possible that it will turn out that the purpose of mass testing is not to prevent the covid-19 epidemic, but to fulfil agreed corrupt and illegal deals on the detriment of citizens and the state budget.
