The Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Janša, is constantly looking for new opportunities to promote Slovenia and investments that would help strengthen the Slovenian economy. After inviting visionary and inventor Elon Musk to invest in a new factory in Slovenia, he also spoke with Apple CEO Tim Cook on Wednesday night.
Tim Cook is the Chief Executive Officer of Apple, and he succeeded the Apple founder Steve Jobs in this position in 2011 when the company was worth 350 billion dollars. Today, its value is estimated at around 2.4 trillion dollars, which puts Apple in sixth place in terms of companies with the largest revenues in the world. Time magazine ranked Cook among the 100 most influential people in the world.
On Wednesday, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša spoke with Cook via a video conference. As we have learned, the conversation focused on the legislative acts that are being harmonised in the field of digital transformation in the European Union and on the importance of cyber security in digital services.
Prime Minister Janša also briefed the director of Apple, Tim Cook, on Slovenia’s competitive advantages in investing in information technology and the development of artificial intelligence.
As we have previously reported, Prime Minister Janša is making great efforts to promote Slovenia and is striving to make sure that as many world-renowned technological companies as possible recognise the opportunity for further development in our country. Slovenia is the fifth safest country in the world, and we are known for our beautiful nature and educated and diligent people. The Slovenian government is also striving to de-bureaucratise and digitalise our country, thus making it more attractive for foreign and domestic investments. Recently, Janša invited the executive director of SpaceX and Tesla, billionaire Elon Musk to invest in Slovenia, after he wrote on Twitter that Tesla did not yet know where they will build the fourth Gigafactory. Symbolically, the most suitable place would be Maribor – where the inventor Nikola Tesla got his first job.
