Tomorrow, on 8 September 2021 at 20:00, a gala concert entitled Songs without Borders will be held in Brussels, where the internationally renowned opera singers Bernarda Fink (mezzo-soprano) and Marcos Fink (bass baritone) will perform a repertoire of solo cantatas by European, including Slovenian, and Argentine composers.
The singers will be accompanied by Croatian-Slovenian pianist and professor of piano Vladimir Mlinarić on piano. The concert will take place in the Henry Le Boeuf Hall of the Bozar in Brussels.
The Argentinian-born singers, who are brother and sister, will interpret songs of various composers, such as the Italian Andrea Falconieri, two Austrians – Hugo Wolf and Franz Schubert, the French Henri Duparc, the Czech Antonín Dvořák, the Spanish Manuel de Falla, three Argentines – Astor Piazzolla, Alberto Williams and Carlos Guastavino, and six Slovenians – Benjamin Ipavec, Josip Ipavec, Anton Lajovic, Kamilo Mašek, Josip Pavčič and Fran Gerbič.
With the selection of 18 solo cantatas, the two musicians will take us on a journey through our common European cultural heritage, complemented by the South American tradition.
