On Friday Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approved the inoculation of 12-15 year olds with a coronavirus jab developed jointly by Pfizer and BioNTech.
“We have carefully reviewed clinical trial data in children aged 12 to 15 years and have concluded that the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective in this age group.” MHRA Chief Executive June Raine said.
Dr Raine emphasized that the benefits of this vaccine outweigh any risk.
The inoculation campaign which started last December in the UK has so far only included adults.
