The story repeats itself: Afghans are smuggled in trucks

By: C.R.

On Friday, a driver of a truck with Serbian license plates arrived at the Obrežje border crossing to enter Slovenia.

Police officers carried out a border control and during a search of the truck on the axle found a hidden Afghan citizen who was trying to evade the border control. After the procedure was completed, the foreigner was handed over to the Croatian security authorities.

During the tasks of guarding the state border in the area of Žuniči (PS Črnomelj), the police tracked down and arrested nine more citizens of Afghanistan, in the area of Loč (PS Brežice) four citizens of Iraq, in the area of Slovenska vas (PS Brežice) two citizens of Turkey, in Brežice two citizens of Iran, and in Slogonsko (PS Brežice) a citizen of Kosovo. Police proceedings with foreigners who have illegally crossed the state border have not yet been completed.
