The new Una-Sana Canton police Commissioner Mujo Korićić told a local television station yesterday that they caught a migrant two weeks ago who is wanted in Macedonia for five murders! The suspect killed five people in a confrontation between migrants and then fled, towards Europe. They captured him on a basketball court in Borići near Bihać during routine searches.
The Commissioner said in the broadcast that the crime is on the rise in the canton. In the past four months only, over 250 criminal offenses were committed by migrants – from attempted murder to rape and robbery, burglaries and stealing vehicles.
He also said that, according to data from the canton, there are about 4000 migrants whose true identity is yet to be determined. All of them have the intention to continue their journey to the countries of the European Union. He added that about a hundred migrants made a tent settlement at the currently closed border crossing of Maljevac, where they are waiting for the opportunity to continue their journey.
