Over the weekend, 89 illegal migrants were arrested

Last weekend, police officers dealt with 89 illegal crossings of the state border in the area of the Koper Police Administration:

Friday: three citizens of Cuba in Novokračine, a citizen of Afghanistan and a citizen of Pakistan in Starod, two citizens of Morocco and a citizen of Algeria in Zazid, three citizens of Afghanistan in Prešnica, and ten citizens of Afghanistan in Sušak.

Saturday: thirty-one citizens of Afghanistan and two citizens of Cuba in Rakitovec, two citizens of Algeria and a citizen of Libya near Pregara.

Sunday: In the afternoon, a car Ford Fiesta, Italian registration, driven by a 46-year-old Indian citizen (with a residence permit in Italy) was stopped in Podgrad. There were three other Indian citizens in the vehicle who came to Slovenia illegally.

Eleven other Turkish citizens were treated in Podgrad. The investigation revealed that one of them was a guide, a Pakistani citizen.

A Turkish citizen was treated in Jelšane.

In the afternoon, police in Dolenje pri Jelšanah stopped an Italian-registered Citroen jumper driven by a 34-year-old Albanian citizen. There were ten Turkish citizens in the van who came to Slovenia illegally. In addition, they stopped a Fiat Bravo passenger car, Italian registration, driven by a 26-year-old Italian citizen who was found to be the predecessor of the van. Both drivers are facing criminal charges. All procedures are still ongoing.
