Over an “extended” weekend, more than 100 migrants were arrested in Primorska region!

In the period between Thursday, June 24th, 2021 and Monday, June 28th, 2021, the police of the Koper Police Department dealt with a total of 103 illegal migrants.

Police dealt with 21 illegal migrants on Thursday. Near Zabiče, 2 citizens of Kosovo were arrested; at Pavlica 6 citizens of Pakistan; at Mala Bukovica 12 citizens of Pakistan; and at Mostičje another Iranian citizen. All persons were returned to the Croatian security authorities.

On Friday, police officers dealt with 42 illegal migrants. At Dolenje potok, 3 citizens of Pakistan and 1 citizen of Nigeria were arrested; in Podgrad, 2 citizens of Bangladesh and 2 citizens of Pakistan, driven by a Ukrainian in a car; in Dolenje pri Jelšanah 1 citizen of Afghanistan; in Obrovo 4 citizens of Pakistan; in Starod 16 Iraqi citizens (asylum); near Male Loče, another 13 citizens of Pakistan (asylum). 29 people applied for asylum, so they were accommodated in an asylum home in Ljubljana, and the rest were returned to the Croatian security authorities.

Police dealt with 24 illegal migrants on Saturday. At Rakitovec, 9 Iraqi citizens (asylum) were arrested; at Kozina 4 citizens of Pakistan (asylum); in Hrušica, 1 citizen of Iran and 1 citizen of Afghanistan; in Rodik 5 citizens of Nepal (asylum); on the road Obrov – Golac 1 citizen of Afghanistan; under Slavnik, 3 more citizens of Pakistan. A total of 18 of them applied for asylum, so they were taken and accommodated in an asylum home in Ljubljana, while the rest were returned to the Croatian security authorities.

Police dealt with 16 illegal migrants on Sunday. At Bertoki, 1 Moroccan citizen (asylum) was arrested; 10 citizens of Iraq at Praproče; in Hrušica, 5 citizens of Pakistan. A Moroccan citizen has applied for asylum, and the others will be returned to the Croatian security authorities.
