In Littoral region, police caught as many as 54 illegal migrants

In the last 24 hours, Littoral policemen in Koper dealt with 54 illegal crossings of the state border.

Namely, in Rakitovec 13 citizens of Afghanistan and seven citizens of Iran, in Praporče two citizens of Iran and one citizen of Algeria, in Podpeč one citizen of Algeria and five citizens of Turkey, in Rakitovec 12 citizens of Afghanistan.

At 8.20 pm, police officers stopped a car in Ilirska Bistrica, in which two Indian citizens, both with a residence permit in Italy, were driving. There were 10 other citizens of Afghanistan, one citizen of Pakistan and two citizens of Turkey who came to Slovenia illegally in the vehicle. Proceedings are still ongoing.

At around half past seven in the morning, Črnomelj police officers arrested twelve Afghan citizens at Preloka who had crossed the state border illegally.

In the afternoon, Brežice police arrested seven Turkish citizens who came to Slovenia past border crossings near Ponikve.
