Danish police attacked with stones in notorious migrant ghetto

Earlier this week, Danish police were attacked by masked ‘youths’ in the Vollsmose district in Odense, Denmark’s third largest city.

Shortly after 11 pm on Monday, police received a report of a fire in the Bøgeparken, a neighborhood in Vollsmose. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers were greeted by a gang of so-called ‘youths’ who hurled stones at them, Danish tabloid Den Korte Avis reports.

Reinforcements were subsequently called in and police managed to arrest two of the young hooligan men, one aged 23 and the other 24. Shortly after their arrests, however, both men are said to have been released.

The police are  now investigating the incident further. They will now take extra steps to ensure the security of the troubled neighborhood.

Vollsmose is one of Denmark’s worst immigrant ghettos and is often referred to as a “no-go zone”. The neighborhood isn’t dissimilar to certain areas of Malmö, Sweden.
