France: Firefighters ambushed by a gang of migrant ‘youths’ who launched mortars

French firefighters and police in the Paris suburb of Champigny-sur-Marne were attacked earlier this week by a gang migrant youths who hurled projectiles and launched mortars at them.

The clashes erupted in the early hours on Tuesday morning when a gang of fifteen masked and hooded individuals lured about six firefighters to the Champigny-sur-Marne area with a garbage fire.

According to a union police source, upon arriving at the scene, the firefighters were attacked by the group of migrant youths who launched projectiles at them, Le Figaro reports.

“It seemed like a trap. The individuals had a real will to light the fires”, the union police source said.
