A smuggler and foreigners who illegally crossed the state border were arrested

During the night of November 24th while performing the tasks of protecting the state border in Nova vas pri Mokricah, police officers from the Brežice Police Station stopped a VW Golf car with Slovenian registration plates.

During the proceedings, it was established that the 69-year-old driver was transporting five Afghan citizens who had previously crossed the state border illegally. The 69-year-old smuggler was taken into custody, where he was detained, and his car was confiscated. He will be brought before an investigating judge with a criminal complaint for a criminal offense of prohibited crossing the border or territory of the country. Police proceedings with Afghan citizens are still ongoing.
