Week-on-week coronavirus case count more than doubles to 1,500

Almost 1,500 new coronavirus cases were confirmed on Saturday in what is an increase of 138% week-on-week, while the positivity rate increased on a daily basis by more than three percentage points to 33.5%, the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) said.

The seven-day average of new cases increased by 123 to 1,673 and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents has climbed to 837, up by 48. The government reported that 475 people were in hospital for Covid-19 on Saturday, 20 more than on Friday, while the number of IC patients was up by six to 126. Five Covid-19 patients died yesterday.
