This year, the Study Centre for National Reconciliation marked the Europe-Wide Day of Remembrance for the victims of all totalitarian and authoritarian regimes on Friday, 21 August 2020, by laying flowers in three memorial locations in Ljubljana; in front of the memorial plaque of the American Embassy, in front of the Monument to the Victims of All Wars in Kongresni trg, and in front of prison cells in Beethovnova. The ceremony was adapted to accommodate the current health situation.

As part of the event, memorial wreaths were laid in all three of the aforementioned locations on behalf of Prime Minister Janez Janša to remember the millions of people who were victims of totalitarian regimes around the world, and particularly to remember people who were victims of totalitarian regimes in the 20th century in the territory of Slovenia.
