The two police departments together report more than 220 illegal migrants in a single weekend

Last weekend, the police had a lot to do with migrants, who are increasing in number. In the Police Department Koper alone, 94 illegal crossings of the state border were recorded. Details are not reported. Police Department Novo mesto recorded as many as 136 captured migrants.

Police Department Novo mesto announced that the police stopped a van from Serbia on Saturday afternoon. During the procedure, they found out that the 30-year-old citizen of Serbia was transporting 13 citizens of Nepal and eight citizens of Bangladesh in the vehicle, who illegally crossed the state border. The citizen of Serbia was deprived of his liberty, detained, and his van was confiscated. With a criminal charge of prohibited crossing the border or territory of the country he will be brought before an investigating judge.

During the performance of tasks of protecting the state border in the area of Police Station Brežice (Brezje pri Veliki Dolini, Rigonce, Slovenska vas, Dobova, Prilipe, Čatež ob Savi, Gabrje pri Dobovi, Brežice and Loče), police officers of the Police Department Novo Mesto tracked down and arrested 49 citizens of Burundi, 25 citizens of Bangladesh, 15 citizens of Iraq, 15 citizens of Afghanistan, three citizens of India, two citizens of China, and one citizen of Turkey. In the area of Police Station Črnomelj (Podklanec, Damelj) they tracked down 14 citizens of Burundi, a citizen of Afghanistan, and a citizen of Pakistan. Police procedures with foreigners who have illegally crossed the state border have not yet been completed.

Police Department Ljubljana announced that they captured five illegal migrants last weekend.
