Seventeen (17) European countries (of which 14 are EU members) have supported a document requesting the European Commission for faster deportation of illegal migrants and stricter measures against illegal immigrants. Slovenia is not among them.
The document was supported by EU member states: Austria, the Netherlands, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Slovakia, and Sweden. It was also supported by Norway, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein (Euronews).
Journalist and editor Jože Biščak pointed this out on platform X. He asked the government why Slovenia is not among the signatories of the document. The government has remained silent. Many are warning that this is a betrayal of Slovenia.
In this case, we cannot point fingers solely at Robert Golob, the Prime Minister and leader of the Gibanje Svoboda party; the responsibility lies with all three coalition parties and their leaders. This includes, besides the Gibanje Svoboda, the SD and Levica parties. The SD is led by Matjaž Han, and the coordinator of Levica is Asta Vrečko.
The ruling coalition is doing all of this behind the backs of citizens, on their own accord, without even informing the public.
