As of today, Mojca Prelesnik, the former Information Commissioner, takes over the management of the Slovenian Press Agency (STA). She is a person without journalistic experience, who has consistently held high positions within the transitional left cadre.
Prelesnik has made an incredible leap – on Wednesday, her second five-year term as Information Commissioner ended, and today she continues as the director of the national press agency. Prior to this, she was, among other roles, Deputy Information Commissioner and Secretary General of the National Assembly.
Mojca Prelesnik was appointed as the new director of the STA by the supervisory board for a five-year term in mid-April, after her predecessor Igor Kadunc resigned for personal reasons. In the interim, the agency was led by Acting Director Barbara Štrukelj.
