The Cathedral of Freedom has published another anthology, a continuation of last year’s volume Consensus for a Historic Moment, which brought together contributions toward a modern Slovenian national programme. The new anthology is somewhat shorter and carries the subtitle The Path to Victory and the Tasks of the New Government.

In this volume, 34 authors, including Demokracija’s editor Metod Berlec and journalist Gašper Blažič, analyse symptoms, offer diagnoses, and propose remedies for Slovenia’s systemic pathologies, as stated in the invitation. Across eleven thematic sections, the authors distil 131 programme points, which are presented in the final part of the anthology as proposals for the next government to implement through concrete policy. In other words, they outline governmental tasks in relation to the functions of the state. Each contribution is published in both Slovenian and English.

Gašper Blažič contributed an essay titled For the Spiritual and Moral Renewal of the Slovenian Nation and State, in which he not only situates religious communities within the modern civil‑society sector but also proposes a path toward changing the mentality and spiritual orientation of Slovenians. Dr Metod Berlec contributed an essay titled A Plan for the Demographic Renewal of the Slovenian Nation.

The presentation of the anthology will take place on Tuesday, 10 February, at 12:00 at the New University (Mestni trg 23, Ljubljana). As with the first volume, the editorial board consists of Alenka Puhar, Ivan Štuhec, Žiga Turk, Dimitrij Rupel, Peter Jambrek, Ernest Petrič, and Tomaž Zalaznik.
