The Director of the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Education, Vinko Logaj, reportedly succumbed to political pressure and irrevocably resigned on Monday, July 15th, as reported by the Domovina portal. Golob is said to have taken personal offense because Logaj did not allow the introduction of so-called ecological gardens in schools, which is a desire of Tina Gaber.
Logaj is a member of the former LDS and Zares parties, and he even ran for a parliamentary seat on the latter’s list. He ascended to the head of the institute in 2014, during the time when Alenka Bratušek led the government. He is considered an expert in his field.
According to Domovina, he resigned due to political pressures coming directly from the Prime Minister’s office.
