Minister of Foreign Affairs Anže Logar

Minister of Foreign Affairs Anže Logar spoke on the phone with his Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjárto, today. The ministers agreed to support the initiatives put forward by both national communities and ease the crossings of border residents.

They have agreed to open two additional border crossings: Hodoš-Bajánsenye and Čepinci-Verica (Kétvölgy). The latter is especially important for Slovenes living in the Raba Region, as all connections by road between the region and Slovenia had been closed following the introduction of temporary border control by Hungary. Further details on the border crossing regime at these two crossings will be agreed upon between the two countries at the earliest convenience.

The foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with cooperation between Slovenia and Hungary so far, especially during efforts to repatriate their respective citizens, and made arrangements for future collaboration. They went on to exchange information on measures to contain the epidemic and sustain the economy.
