SDS submitted its own proposal to amend the Government Act to the National Assembly under a shortened procedure, after the Freedom Movement withdrew its own draft law.

They propose reducing the number of ministries from 19 to 14. The proposal was signed only by SDS MPs, so the outlines of a new coalition cannot yet be inferred from the submitted bill. However, a voting pattern involving SDS, NSi+SLS+Fokus, the Democrats, and Resni.ca is beginning to emerge in some important votes in the National Assembly.

Tuesday’s vote in the Mandate‑Electoral Commission played out differently: the Democrats, together with the Freedom Movement, SD, Levica, and Vesna, rejected the SDS proposal to postpone the appointment of 10 judges. SDS MP Zvone Černač therefore posted a series of criticisms of the Democrats on X and called for early elections.

Calls for new elections spread across X, and one of them was shared by SDS president Janez Janša.
